Let’s say this right off the bat: you can wear anything you want and whatever makes you happy. Any color, any style and match with whatever you want, as long as you’re comfortable with. That being said, of course there are some colors and fits that can be more or less flattering according to your characteristics, in this case, your skin tone.
Let 's find out?
To begin with, it’s important that you know your skin tone. And I'm not talking about pale skin or dark skin. There are only two basic types of skin tone: warm and cool. One easy trick to know your undertone is to look at your arm and see the color of our veins. If they are bluish, your skin tone is cool, and if they’re more green, you have warmer tones. And if you can’t tell it’s probably neutral. That has nothing to do if you have darker or lighter skin. You can have dark skin with a cool skin tone or a pale skin with warm skin tone. Got it?
Now that you already know your skin tone it’s time to see what color fits you well.
The best colors for cool skin tones are on the cool end of the color spectrum. The top colors to wear include emeralds, deep purples, lavender, pink, ice blue and bright blues. As you can see, our beautiful Catarina Rodrigues has pale skin with cool tones and our LEATHER MULES in BLUE fit her perfectly. CARVIMI has a lot of options that are suitable for this skin tone, like our MÉTIS and IRENE sandals, made with lavender and blue shades.
For warmer skin tones the top colors are the ones yellow-based colors, as they bring out the natural undertone more. Greens, browns, warm reds or oranges, peach, coral, and gold also suit this skin tone well. If you’re a bronzed beauty, our recommendation is to go with metallic color tones. With warm, medium skin tones, you can most likely pull off any type of metallic color, ranging anywhere from gold to silver. As you can see by our beloved Isabel Lopes, wearing our LACE-UP LEATHER THONG SANDALS from our metallic collection, it looks like it’s made for her. If you’re feeling more edgy, go for neon with our LEATHER SANDALS WITH HEELS BY CAROL CURRY. There are very few women who can pull off these highlighter hues, but ladies with a tanned tone can usually get away with it.
As a neutral, you can wear anything on the color wheel — but it's typically best to go for softened or muted versions of a color instead of the brighter ones. For neutral colors, turn to off-whites, mid-range grays, and black. Our lovely Catarina Nogueira is wearing our BLACK MOCASSINS and it’s nothing but perfection. CARVIMI has plenty of options for this type of undertone because…well let’s say people with neutral undertones are the God’s chosen ones and you can literally wear anything you want! :)
Now that you know what colors fit you the best, let’s remember what’s really important: how you feel wearing them. How confident you are and how beautiful you look to your eyes. So, feel free to wear any kind of shoes we have, as long as you’re the best version of yourself.
